Feb 7, 2024 – Feb 16, 2024

Description

The Department of Race, Diaspora, and Indigeneity at the University of Chicago invites applications from candidates whose research and teaching focus lies at the intersections of Asian American, feminist, and Indigenous Studies. The position is at the rank of Associate Professor and will begin on or after July 1, 2024.

Qualifications

Successful applicants will have a record of published scholarship and experience teaching at the intersection of women of color feminisms, transnational East Asian migration, and settler colonial studies.  We are particularly eager to hire a scholar who can actively contribute to an interdisciplinary department that engages race, diaspora, and Indigeneity in tandem. Given the interdisciplinary nature of the Department, applications from colleagues whose work transcends, melds, or crosses disciplinary boundaries, including visual culture and creative practice, are particularly welcome. Finally, we especially encourage topics and approaches which speak to the intersectional, mixed-method, and public-facing emphasis of our departmental culture.
