Job Description

Purpose:

The Global Cyber Research Institute (GCRI) at Texas A&M University, endowed by Ray Rothrock ‘77 and Anthony Wood ‘87, seeks to hire one or more research scientists in the area of cybersecurity broadly defined. This is an opportunity for scientists to join a new high-profile research endeavor at Texas A&M University. Hires will have the opportunity to engage with faculty invested in security and resilience research across multiple disciplines, interface with industry, and develop independent research programs. Applications from candidates in all areas related to cybersecurity and resilience are encouraged, including (but not limited to): Security-related algorithms and AI/ML/analytics (e.g. cryptography, blockchain, intrusion monitoring/detection), software, network, and system security, security and human factors, and embedded and cyber-physical system security/resilience.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent and collaborative research in a domain related to cyber-security.
  • Develop and manage projects for the GCRI.
  • Guide and collaborate with undergraduate and graduate student researchers.
  • Support other GCRI activities including workforce-development programs and industry engagement efforts

  • Ph.D.

  • Research experience in a domain related to cybersecurity broadly defined.
  • Strong research record as reflected by impactful publications, documented products, etc.
  • Experience with proposal development and project management.
  • Experience with inter-disciplinary research in the security space.

The Texas A&M Global Cyber Research Institute (GCRI), endowed by Ray Rothrock ’77 and Anthony Wood ’90, is a joint Texas A&M University and Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station institute, which aims to advance the practice of information security and cyber defense for the state, the nation, and beyond.
