Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The Assistant Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship is responsible for managing and carrying out all donor relations and stewardship activities within the Office of Development and External Relations on behalf of the Division of Student Affairs (DSA). The Assistant Director reports to the Director of the Office of Development and External Relations. In partnership with the University’s central Donor Relations and Stewardship team and DSA staff, the Assistant Director will implement and manage a division-wide donor relations and stewardship plan that retains and inspires donors to support DSA to their fullest potential. The Assistant Director will be responsible for ongoing stewardship efforts related to DSA funds and their associated donors, developing ongoing communications to demonstrate the impact of donor support, managing the DSA scholarship processes, acting as a liaison to the University’s central donor relations office and other duties as assigned. The Assistant Director will also have shared oversight over a full-time Development Coordinator.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree.


Experience:

  •  Five or more years of related experience in Stewardship, Donor Relations, and/or Development.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and oral form, to problem-solve in a timely fashion, and to be sensitive to the needs of a wide range of internal and external constituencies.
  • Ability to be flexible, work independently, take initiative, manage multiple projects, prioritize a high-volume of work in a fast-paced environment, and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented and have strong organizational and financial management skills.

  • Experience in donor relations and stewardship at a college or university.
  • Event planning and management experience.
