Job Description Summary:
The Department of Cancer Biology at The University of Kansas Cancer Center is committed to building an active research and training program in cancer research. Several
appointments are available at the level of Assistant/Associate Professor with research interests in the broad areas of tumor biology and tumor microenvironment. We invite
applications across the breath of cancer research, including cancer genetics, immunotherapy, epigenetics and proteomics, cancer cell biology, tumor microenvironment, cancer stem
cells, metastasis, tumor immunology, cancer metabolism and oncogenic signal transduction pathways.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications:
- Successful candidates will have a demonstrated record of originality and productivity in research, existing and outstanding potential for consistent
extramural funding, and an interest in graduate and medical education. PhD, MD/PhD, or DVM-tenure-earning and/or tenured faculty.
Preferred Qualifications:
- NIH Funding, interdisciplinary skills in collaboration with clinical or laboratory-based scientists.
Job Duties Outlined:
Establish and maintain a significant research program with NCI and/or cancer related funding.
Teach in graduate programs related to cancer biology.
- Support the Cancer Center's
efforts. - Perform other duties as assigned by the Departmental Chair.
- Teach, as per expertise, medical and allied health programs.
- Develop collaborative research programs and intra- and
extra- mural investigations. - Participate in graduate students committees.
- Mentor trainees.
- Develop and maintain leadership roles within the scientific community.
