Job Summary:

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado Denver invites applications for multiple tenure track positions at the assistant professor level. Candidates are being sought in the areas of applied communication systems and signal processing, autonomous systems, quantum computing, circuit design, and applications of machine learning.  Other related areas will also be considered.

The department offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering accredited by ABET, a Master of Science degree, a Master of Engineering degree, and a PhD degree in Engineering and Applied Science. We maintain excellent teaching and research programs in embedded systems communications, VLSI, controls, machine learning, power and energy systems, neuro-engineering, quantum computing, and electromagnetics. The College of Engineering, Design and Computing takes pride in having a faculty of excellent scholars and engineering practitioners. The college values innovation, creativity and an interdisciplinary approach to engineering and research. We focus on providing our students with a comprehensive engineering education at the undergraduate, graduate and professional level. Faculty conduct research that spans our five disciplines of civil, electrical and mechanical engineering, bioengineering, and computer science and engineering. Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is a tenure track position with the following required qualifications: Assistant Professor

  • PhD in electrical engineering or closely related field

  • A strong academic record as evidenced by peer reviewed publications

  • Ability to establish an externally funded research programs and direct MS and PhD student research as evidenced by contributions to funded projects and authorship of proposals

  • Commitment to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses and diverse student populations as evidenced by experience as lecturer, teaching assistant, or other contributions to university level pedagogy.

    Anticipated Pay Range:

    The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as Assistant Professor: $90,000 - $100,000 per 9 month academic year. Additional salary for summer months can be sourced from research funds or for additional duties. The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt. Your total compensation goes beyond the number on your paycheck.
