The Paul and Virginia Engler College of Business at West Texas A&M University invites applications for assistant professors starting Spring 2023 or Fall 2023, depending on candidate availability. West Texas A&M University is located on a 170-acre campus in Canyon, Texas, with two additional support center facilities in neighboring Amarillo, Texas. The Amarillo, Texas area is an affordable and growing metropolitan area of approximately 350,000, serving as a primary service area for Northwest Texas, Southwest Oklahoma, Southwest Kansas, Eastern New Mexico, and Southeast Colorado. University enrollment is approximately 10,000 students, including over 1,300 undergraduate and 1,400 graduate students in the AACSB-Accredited College of Business. The typical teaching load is three courses (two preparations) per semester. The tenure track positions include teaching, research, and service responsibilities. Salary is competitive, depending on academic discipline and experience. Additional compensation for summer teaching and service activities is available.

The successful candidate must demonstrate commitment to quality teaching, professional service, and scholarly activity consistent with the college definition of Scholarly Academic for AACSB accreditation.

Necessary Qualifications:

Competitive candidates must have a. Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems (CIS) or a closely related field by the time of appointment. Applicants must have a high level of familiarity with the information systems topics and technologies. Candidates should have strong leadership and interpersonal communication skills, initiative, and the ability to excel in a student-centered environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference is given to candidates with one or more teaching fields in business analytics, management information systems, web applications, database design, multimedia development, and network security.
