Job Summary:

West Texas A&M University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor of clinical psychology position to begin in the Fall of 2022. Main teaching responsibilities include undergraduate and graduate classes in psychopathology, assessment, counseling, intervention, and other related courses. The teaching load is 4 courses during the fall semester and 3 courses during the spring semester. The candidate will also direct the Clinical Psychology track of the MA Psychology program and supervise graduate practicum. Additional responsibilities include mentoring undergraduate and graduate research projects, supervising master's theses and advising students. West Texas A&M is part of the Texas A&M system and is located in Canyon, Texas, 15 miles south of Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle. The university provides a gateway to the rich cultural heritage of the Southwest.

Work Performed:

The teaching load is 4 courses during the fall semester and 3 courses during the spring semester.  The candidate will also direct the clinical psychology track of the MA Psychology program and will supervise the graduate practicum.  Additional responsibilities include mentoring undergraduate and graduate research projects, supervising master’s theses and advising students.

Necessary Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology

  • Licensed as or be eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Psychologist in Texas

  • Strong teaching skills and a demonstrated record of scholarship

  • At least 2-3 years of experiences teaching undergraduate and graduate classes
