Job Description

The Department of Biology and Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) seeks a full-time Assistant Professor of Chemistry to begin Fall 2024. Primary duties will include teaching introductory and upper level courses for the chemistry program. This position requires face-to-face interactions through a regular schedule of attendance on campus and in the workplace.

Required Qualifications :

The successful candidate must hold a doctorate in Chemistry (or related field). ABDs will also be considered but must have earned a doctorate before appointment. We strongly encourage candidates with a background in inorganic or bioinorganic chemistry to apply.

We desire candidates who have a strong commitment both to teaching and to developing a research program that involves undergraduate and graduate students. Ability to acquire extramural funding is desirable. Previous teaching experience is preferred (9 months). Experience as a teaching assistant will be considered.
