Position Duties | The Department of Biology at Loyola University Maryland (LUM) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in ecology and evolutionary biology to begin in July 2024. We are looking for a candidate committed to excellence in undergraduate education at a dynamic liberal arts university who can continue a productive research program. The search committee is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service, will contribute to LUM’s stated goal of equity and inclusion of the academic community. We seek outstanding candidates from all areas of ecology but those with expertise in urban ecology or who can draw on the local resource of our Chesapeake Bay are of particular interest. The successful candidate will teach two courses in their area of expertise (each with lecture and laboratory) and will contribute to our introductory biology sequence. The successful candidate should possess an awareness of and interest in high impact practices in line with the mission of Jesuit higher education. Faculty development opportunities are also available.
