SUMMARY :

The Department of Educational Leadership is seeking one assistant professor for a 9-month tenure-track position. The position will begin in the fall 2024. Faculty at Texas A&M University-Commerce are required to conduct scholarly activities, work cooperatively with others, and contribute service to their discipline,theuniversity,andthecommunity.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Teach master’s and doctoral level courses in educational leadership;
  • Design, conduct, and publish research;
  • Advise students;
  • Prepare syllabi;
  • Update course materials;
  • Develop curriculum;
  • Deliverinstructionbothonlineandface-to-faceatanyoftheuniversity’ssites;instructional dutiesmay includeteachingduringthe day, theevening, or Saturday;
  • Workcollaborativelywithfaculty andstaffto implement departmentalprograms;
  • Provide service to the department, college, university, public schools, and the community;
  • Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning via research, best practices, andtechnologicalapplicationsintheclassroomthatincludeonlineinstruction;and
  • Chair dissertations to completion.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • Education: doctorate in educational leadership or educational administration from a regionally- accreditedU.S.university
  • Experience/Knowledge/Skills: strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively withateamofprofessionals;strongwrittenandoralcommunicationskills;commitmenttohigh quality instruction;dedication to high standards andstudent success; record oforpotential for scholarship; strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
  • Ability to: multitask and work collegially as part of a team
  • Licensing/ProfessionalCertifications:principalandsuperintendentcertification
  • Physical Requirements: not applicable
  • Other Requirements: not applicable
  • 3 years of K-12 teaching experience
  • Experience teaching online in higher education
  • 3 years of experience as an assistant principal, principal, assistant/associate/deputy superintendent,superintendentoranycombinationthereof

PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILL/EXPERIENCE :

  • Experience teaching in a graduate program
  • Experience chairing dissertations to completion
  • Superintendent Experience
  • Record of publication
