SUMMARY :
The Department of Educational Leadership is seeking one assistant professor for a 9-month tenure-track position. The position will begin in the fall 2024. Faculty at Texas A&M University-Commerce are required to conduct scholarly activities, work cooperatively with others, and contribute service to their discipline,theuniversity,andthecommunity.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Teach master’s and doctoral level courses in educational leadership;
- Design, conduct, and publish research;
- Advise students;
- Prepare syllabi;
- Update course materials;
- Develop curriculum;
- Deliverinstructionbothonlineandface-to-faceatanyoftheuniversity’ssites;instructional dutiesmay includeteachingduringthe day, theevening, or Saturday;
- Workcollaborativelywithfaculty andstaffto implement departmentalprograms;
- Provide service to the department, college, university, public schools, and the community;
- Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of current trends in learning via research, best practices, andtechnologicalapplicationsintheclassroomthatincludeonlineinstruction;and
- Chair dissertations to completion.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
- Education: doctorate in educational leadership or educational administration from a regionally- accreditedU.S.university
- Experience/Knowledge/Skills: strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively withateamofprofessionals;strongwrittenandoralcommunicationskills;commitmenttohigh quality instruction;dedication to high standards andstudent success; record oforpotential for scholarship; strong quantitative and qualitative analysis skills
- Ability to: multitask and work collegially as part of a team
- Licensing/ProfessionalCertifications:principalandsuperintendentcertification

- Other Requirements: not applicable
- 3 years of K-12 teaching experience
- Experience teaching online in higher education
- 3 years of experience as an assistant principal, principal, assistant/associate/deputy superintendent,superintendentoranycombinationthereof
PREFERRED EDUCATION/SKILL/EXPERIENCE :
- Experience teaching in a graduate program
- Experience chairing dissertations to completion
- Superintendent Experience
- Record of publication
