The Biology Department at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS ) seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor with expertise in Microbiology to begin Fall 2022. The successful candidate will direct a research program with undergraduate and Masters students and teach Cell Biology in addition to other courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise. This position will be 40% teaching, 40% research and 20% service. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Biology and postdoctoral experience.

This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

What We Offer:
Salary Range: Generally starting at $68,000-$72,500.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

Tentative Search Timeline:

  • The potential dates for interviews with the search committee will be the week of December 1, 2021.
  • The potential dates for on-campus interviews begins the week of January 24, 2022.
  • The potential employee start date is August 15, 2022 .

Qualifications

 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Ph. D. in Biology

  • One year postdoctoral experience

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and walk. Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, moderate energy requirements and fine motor skills. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
