Position Description
The Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) is seeking applications for the position of Director of the Advanced Graduate (AG) Program in Regenerative & Implant Sciences at the level of Assistant or Associate professor. The successful candidate should demonstrate innovative vision in the field of Regenerative & Implant Dentistry. The position offers a unique interdisciplinary environment for research, teaching, and patient care not only within the HSDM, but also with Harvard affiliated hospitals and institutions. The objective of this program is to enable highly motivated individuals with proven scholarship and excellence in patient care to achieve academic leadership in the clinical and scientific fields of implant dentistry and tissue regeneration. The Director oversees all aspects of the AG Regenerative and Implant Sciences program including the recruitment and admission of highly qualified applicants; the academic, clinical and research progress of the residents; the recruitment and calibration of part-time faculty; the development and maintenance of the program-specific curriculum. 
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual who is able to lead in the field of Regenerative and Implant Sciences by pursuing a vision of innovation, mentoring AG students, and contributing to cutting-edge research in the field. This faculty position has an academic appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, commensurate with experience and qualifications of the individual. The position also includes research and faculty practice opportunities.
Basic Qualifications
Candidates must possess a DMD or DDS degree from a CODA accredited dental school or equivalent, and be eligible for full or limited dental faculty licensure in Massachusetts. Dentists trained outside of the US are eligible to apply.
Additional Qualifications
Candidates should have a record of innovation and scholarly research in the field of Regenerative & Implant Sciences. A strong background in digital implant dentistry with training and expertise in both the surgical and restorative components of implant dentistry is valued. Candidates should have experience with teaching and clinical instruction at the Advanced Graduate level. Further qualifications include strong clinical skills to teach and practice in the state- of-the-art Harvard Dental Center. Finally, the ability to maintain ongoing scholarly work and mentor students in the conduct of research is valued.
