Job Summary:

The College of Engineering at West Texas A&M University (WTAMU) seeks applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or a tenure-track Associate Professor position in Electrical Engineering. Applicants must have an earned doctorate in electrical engineering or an appropriate closely related discipline. We invite applicants from all major electrical engineering areas, including but not limited to electrical power and energy systems.

The College of Engineering at WTAMU currently offers BS degrees in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, environmental engineering, engineering technology, pre-engineering, mathematics, computer science and MS degrees in engineering, mathematics, and engineering technology. The university enrollment is approximately 10,000 students with 700 in engineering, and 100 in computer science. Electrical Engineering is a strong and growing program at WT.

Work Performed:

· Teach undergraduate and graduate courses within the college.

· Actively seek research grants and involve undergraduates in research projects.

· Serve as an academic advisor to students in the major.

· Assists administration in driving curriculum design & development.

· Actively participates on college and/or university committees.

· Active engagement in professional development activities.

· Be involved in outreach activities.

· Willingness to assume other duties as assigned.

Necessary Qualifications:

· Earned doctorate in electrical engineering or a closely related discipline.

· Ability to teach a broad spectrum of courses within electrical engineering.

· Demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in undergraduate and graduate education.

· High potential to develop an externally-funded scholarly research program.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

PhD in Electrical Engineering or appropriately closely related discipline.

Academic, industry, or teaching background in Electrical Engineering core areas.
