Position Summary
St. Anthony Catholic High School, a private, college preparatory High school for young men and women, is seeking an Assistant Football Coach . This is a seasonal part-time position. Position is expected to coach sports within the mission of St. Anthony Catholic High School and our Core Values of Honesty & Integrity; Community; Service & Social Justice; Scholarship; and Holistic Education. The Assistant Football Coach reports to the Athletic Director.
This position is considered a “Responsible Employee” under Title IX federal regulations and “Mandatory Reporter” under Texas state law and the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy. As a Mandatory Reporter, this position requires you, as the employee, to promptly report any incident that you witness or receive information about Title IX violations. These reporting responsibilities are set out in the UIW Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Job Duty Name Essential Duties
Description of Job Duties
  • Assist the Head FB Coach with instructing players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of football;
  • Assist the Head Coach in game planning for opponents;
  • Organize and direct individual and small group practice activities and teach fundamentals necessary for the FB position coached;
  • Assess players’ skills, monitor players during competition and practice, and keep the Head Coach informed of the athletic performance of athletes;
  • Assist the Head Coach with supervising athletes during practices and competition;
  • Follow established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury;
  • Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct and language towards players, officials, and spectators;
  • Participate in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, awards night and pep rallies;
  • Work with the head coach regarding eligibility, inventory, and other related paperwork;
  • Attend staff meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance;
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Principal, Athletic Director, and Head Coach.

Qualifications


Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Extensive knowledge of FB positions;
  • Knowledge of HUDL and film breakdown;
  • Possess effective coaching techniques and skills;
  • Thorough knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of FB;
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents and students;
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
Required Education
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Required Work Experience
Two (2) years experience as a high school or middle school football coach. Experience as a collegiate football player will substitute for coaching experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree or higher;
  • High school varsity playing experience;
  • Experience serving as a strong role model for students;
  • Knowledge of SACHS and 5 Core Values.
Required Certifications, Licenses or Registrations
  • CPR Certified;
  • Concussion Risk Certification;
  • CDL or ability to obtain CDL within 45 days of hire date.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
Work Hours
Typical of football coach, to include evenings & weekend responsibilities, including Sunday film watch.
Physical Demands
  • Typical of coach in this sport.
  • Ability to drive bus to/from the football games.
