The Opportunity: 


The Assistant Director, Regional Alumni Engagement manages and directs UCF Alumni initiatives that increase alumni engagement and annual giving through a scalable, regional-based alumni program that leverages the power of technology to expand our national footprint. Contact with regional groups and other alumni may be virtual. Interaction with communities, volunteers and alumni in the region will also focus on the online delivery of virtual engagement opportunities to expand the reach of UCF Alumni to a wider audience.



Responsibilities:  


  • Oversee the direction and activities of UCF Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving's regional-based alumni program including the communities and their volunteer leadership.

  • Responsibilities include identifying, recruiting, soliciting and training volunteer leadership as well as managing, reporting and evaluating activities of the communities; meetings with communities occur virtually.

  • Expand the regional-based alumni program in number of volunteers and programmatic offerings through scalable initiatives that drive engagement and lead to philanthropy.

  • Sustain and grow alumni volunteer and experiential engagement through regional and national alumni events, online platforms and community service.

  • Work with the leadership of the UCF Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving department to develop and execute on annual and long-term strategic goals that increase alumni engagement and philanthropy.

  • Educate volunteer leaders on UCF Advancement's priorities and initiatives.

  • Anticipate, understand and respond to the needs of volunteer leaders; assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.

  • Collaborate externally with UCF entities such as Admissions, Athletics, and others to help promote and host strategic engagement events.

  • Collaborate internally with the annual giving staff and university-wide development officers to promote philanthropic engagement initiatives and the identification and cultivation of alumni donor prospects.

  • Assist with regional scholarships in the aspects of fundraising, selection, criteria/requirements, donor stewardship, marketing and communication.

  • Write and manage content for alumni communications including electronic communications, web content, social media and direct mail for distribution to alumni.

  • Manage multiple budgets and oversee the daily financial activity of regional communities to maintain fiscal stability.

  • Assist in the development of and manage and track the overall budget for the regional-based alumni engagement program. 

  • Maintain standards for data privacy and integrity with respect to regional alumni queries, community demographic analysis reports, and contact information updates.

  • Provide counsel, advice and technical assistance to university departments and other operational units of the university as it relates to the regional-based alumni engagement program. 

  • Management reserves the right to adjust responsibilities in line with evolving business needs.

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information   



Preferred Qualifications


  • Expertise in executing large, high-profile events.

  • Expertise in relationship building and working in a position with a high level of public contact with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. 

  • Proven ability to lead and direct staff and volunteers. 

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills.

  • Experience working in a complex University environment.

  • Experience working with various technologies including advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office, Zoom, CRM systems and ERP systems.

  • Ability to effectively communicate, handle multiple priorities, and handle the pressure of deadlines.

  • Able to travel, attend and conduct meetings on and off campus, and make presentations before large and small groups.

  • The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve goals with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.

  • Proven ability in budget management.



Special Instructions to the Applicants:  


The anticipated salary for a well-qualified candidate is $54,203- $59,684

Advancement and Partnerships values the unique contributions that each team member brings to our division. The determination of a successful candidate's starting salary will vary based on several factors, including education and relevant experience. The anticipated pay scale indicated for this position generally applies to candidates who meet the minimum requirements and several of the preferred qualifications outlined above.
