Job Summary


As the Assistant or Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship, you will teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, as applicable; be involved in course and curriculum development; be responsible for developing or maintaining a program of research; and participate on College and University committees and/or initiatives.

Job Description

Typical duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Teaches 3 courses per semester, conducts research, and serves on school and university level committees. 
  • Support student co-curricular activities and business development.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Additional Job Description

Required Qualifications:

  • PhD in Entrepreneurship, or in a closely related field (e.g., Organizational Behavior/Strategic Management, etc) from a program that is AACSB or similarly accredited.  Accreditation may vary based on specific degree focus.
  • ABD will be considered. If the successful candidate’s degree is not conferred by August 7, 2024, the appointment will be made at a Lecturer level on a fixed contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A PhD in a field tangentially relevant to entrepreneurship (e.g., engineering, biology, chemistry, etc) from a program that similarly accredited to AACSB within business fields.  Accreditation may vary based on specific degree focus.  Must be combined with at least 5 years of significant entrepreneurial experience.  (This might involve founding one or more businesses and successfully raising growth capital.)
  • Demonstrated potential to build a successful record of publications.
  • Demonstrated expertise in one of the following areas:
    • Entrepreneurial mindset
    • Entrepreneurial skills, competencies, expertise, or practice
    • Startup finance
    • Differentiation, growth, and scaling
    • Sustainable entrepreneurship
    • Technology commercialization
  • Expertise in sustainability as it relates to innovation, entrepreneurship, and/or commercialization.
  • Experience working with student co-curricular events and activities related to entrepreneurship.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with colleagues outside your discipline.
  • Familiarity with experiential learning techniques in entrepreneurship.
  • Experience successfully mentoring student business ideas.
  • Experience working with members of an entrepreneurially ecosystem beyond the campus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the use of technology in university teaching.
  • Ability to collaborate both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning.
  • Ability to value continued scholarship and service to the university, with a demonstrated ability or potential for developing a successful research program.

Appointment will be made on a 9-month multi-year appointment basis available August 2024.
