Job Summary

The Assessment and Data Analytics Specialist I, under general supervision, will coordinate the development and distribution of academic assessment and institutional effectiveness reports and related analytics. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists programs with design, implementation, and revision of assessment processes, with an emphasis on planning and evaluating student learning outcomes.

  • Edits, formats, and organizes testing documents.

  • Performs statistical analysis on testing data and consults with subject matter experts.

  • Coordinates and leads program meetings. Interprets technical information and plans, develops, and updates technical documents.

  • Provides evaluation system orientation. Trains course directors and others on how to access and review course data.

  • Conducts, evaluates, and reports on course, student, and instructor evaluations.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain the utilization of technology to support academic assessment and institutional effectiveness processes across the institution.

  • Implementation of testing documents, such as test banks, skill sheets and processes.

  • Coordinates the established review and maintenance process for all testing documents to include formatting and editing.

  • Assist in providing visual analysis by creating assessment and effectiveness dashboards based on the data and information collected through the assessment and effectiveness process. Add Additional Responsibilities here

Minimum Requirements

  • Education – Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Education, Mathematics or Computer Science.

  • Experience – Three years of related assessment and/or analytics experience.

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Education - Master’s in Accounting, Education, Mathematics, or Computer Science.

  • Experience - Three years of related assessment and/or analytics experience.

Knowledge and Abilities

Knowledge of:

  • Word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Ability to:

  • Multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective leadership, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

  • Think critically.

  • Detail oriented.

Preferred Knowledge and Abilities

Experience with

  • A statistical software package (SAS or SPSS ) and business intelligence software (Microsoft Power BI).

  • Postsecondary education assessment or institutional effectiveness processes.

  • Large scale survey activity.

Licensing / Professional Certification – None.

Salary: $21.11/hourly
