Job Description

The Animal Caretaker Supervisor, under general supervision, directs and trains animal care personnel and participates in work of the animal care facility.
Responsibilities:
-Directs and participates in the cleaning of animal housing facilities and feeding equipment.
-Applies basic principles of handling and restraint of animals, sanitation and disinfection.
-Plans work routines and schedules for subordinate animal care personnel.
-Trains new employees.
-Directs cleaning of animal examination rooms, surgery rooms, treatment rooms, laboratories, and other clinic areas.
-Directs operation, care, and maintenance of mechanical and other equipment.
-Directs and participates in providing routine care for animals.
-Prepares basic animal food; feeds and waters animals.
-Coordinates bathing, dipping, and grooming of animals.
-Advises animal care personnel in implementation of special instructions from professional staff members.
-Performs delegated duties in the absence of the Animal Clinic Supervisor.

-Other duties as required.


Required Education and Experience:
-High School diploma/GED.
-Three years of experience in animal care.


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
-Good verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
