Job Description

Purpose:

The Payroll Administrator II reports directly to the Director of Payroll and is responsible for many payroll and tax related duties pertaining to TEES, TEEX and TTI as well as the College of Engineering.  This position serves as an administrator for TEES and TTI in the GLACIER Nonresident Tax Compliance System.  This includes overseeing receipt and review of required onboarding documents. The position also reconciles and clears payroll expenditures from the TEES Payroll Default Account on a timely basis. This is a security-sensitive position. The individual in this position is required to handle Protected Health Information (PHI) as defined by HIPAA regulations. The individual is required to handle PHI in accordance with A&M System policy and is further required to complete HIPAA training as a condition of employment, within a reasonable time frame after the individual’s employment, and on an as-needed basis thereafter.

Responsibilities:

  • Assists with reviewing and processing refunds for employees, mainly in the area of FICA refunds.
  • Answers questions from Nonresident Aliens related to GLACIER and tax treaties.
  • Works with students on FICA tax issues and questions.
  • Clears items off of the Agency Default account (277799) through research and PCT process.
  • Performs other related duties as requested or when necessary.

What we need:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • One year of related experience.
