Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The AI Engineer designs, develops, implements, and maintains the Enterprise’s applications leveraging capabilities of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and algorithms. The position is hands-on, and will join a team that practices agile software development methodology.
The AI Engineer is responsible for:
  • Designing, building, and implementing creative and ethical IT solutions for problems across the Enterprise leveraging AI applications that use large language models, neural networks, and other machine learning technologies.
  • Engineering scalable AI solutions from concept-level ideas to production-ready applications.
  • Following an agile development methodology and working within scheduled timelines.
  • Participating in peer code reviews, documentation, and formal testing.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Additional work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of professional experience supporting the operations, maintenance, and administration of information technology infrastructure.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to follow directions from more senior team members but also able to work independently.
  • Experience providing mentorship to junior staff members.
  • A demonstrated commitment to customer service.
  • Ability to effectively manage workload and deliver assignments on time.
  • Skilled in the use of office productivity software such as Office 365 or Google Workspaces.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex issues.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Preferences:
Preferences:
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
  • Knowledge of data management, including databases and data storage solutions.
  • Experience working productively in a software engineering team in the design, development, and implementation of a software module/component.
  • Experience with AI libraries and frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
  • Feature selection, creation, and extraction skills.
  • Familiarity with data analysis and visualization tools.
  • Familiarity with vector databases and associated data manipulation systems.
  • Experience with training deep-learning algorithms using neural networks.
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience working with AI applications.
  • Proficiency in programming languages, Python, R, Java, or C++.
  • Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts, including supervised and unsupervised learning.
  • Proficiency in developing applications using serverless technologies on cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with version control systems like Git.

Salary range $122,000-$135,000

Sedentary work. Employee will need to be able to sit for long periods of time to work on a computer, as well as travel occasionally to meet with clients and customers on and off campus.
