Job Description

The Agricultural Research Worker, under supervision, supports research or teaching laboratories, farms, or ranches by performing specialized tasks.

Responsibilities:

- Assists in the preparation, irrigation, and harvest of field plots and greenhouse plants.

- Uses field research equipment, procedures, and apparatuses in conducting field experiments.

- Performs a variety of work assignments utilizing mechanical, carpentry, and welding skills.

- Performs minor repairs to farm/ranch equipment.

- Operates farm equipment such as tractors, plows, cultivators, etc.

- Collects, records, and prepares analyses on field research data collected.

- Perform laboratory assays.

- Take soil samples.

- Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- One year of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-Knowledge of agricultural field research or laboratory work.

-Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

- Must be able to move heavy objects.

- Exposure to outside work in hot or cold weather conditions.
