The Office for Student Success is seeking an Administrative Coordinator II to help ensure smooth administrative functioning of a department containing five student success units and a charge to directly support thousands of students in alignment with the university's student retention and graduation goals. The person in this position will work collectively and cohesively as part of a team of administrative coordinators to support our office. The ideal candidate will therefore have significant office management experience. What You Need to Know

Salary Range: $36,512.00 - $46,924.80 (Based on selected hire’s qualifications)

Other Requirements and Factors: Limited evening and weekend work may be required. Ability to attend meetings in locations other than assigned office.


Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three years of related experience in office administration.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills. Planning and organization skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in college or university setting.
  • Two years of Texas A&M University office administrative experience.
  • Customer service experience
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Zoom or other teleconference platforms.


Essential Duties/Tasks

Office Management - Coordinates administrative support functions as part of a centralized, collaborative, and cohesive team for the Office for Student Success. Develops, plans, and coordinates administrative activities and services such as scheduling, program planning, and communications. Serves as an office manager. Under direction, develops, evaluates, and ensures adherence to office procedures.

Project Management - Provides administrative support of programs, projects, and initiatives of the entire Office for Student Success. Monitors project timelines, coordinates with leadership/unit needs, and works to identify and trouble shoot issues. Assists with the procurement of items needed for promotional and outreach efforts. Interfaces with a variety of university departments and external vendors and service providers. Assists with logistics for a variety of Office for Student Success projects such as special events, courses, meetings, conferences, and workshops.

Operations Oversight - Formulates, interprets, and/or implements management policies or operating practices to support the efficiency and effectiveness of operations of the Office for Student Success as part of an administrative coordination team. Develops administrative and technical procedures. Researches, interprets, compiles, and responds to inquiries about OSS programs, services, and policies and procedures under supervisor direction. Assists with the administrative components of hiring and onboarding new employees as well as the processing of outbound employees. Coordinates the maintenance of office supplies and equipment. Coordinates purchasing, payroll, interdepartmental transfers, venue and room reservations, and related operational matters.

Supervision - May supervise, train, and evaluate part-time student staff. Assigns tasks and evaluates job progress.

Yes, but only for part-time student-employees.
