Position Summary
This position is responsible for a broad range of high-level administrative duties in support of the Office of Student Life and must exercise sound judgment in decision-making, have an ability to establish priorities in completing work assignments, exercise confidentiality, and gain a broad and deep understanding of the law school and its culture. The Office of Student Life Coordinator manages the day-to-day demands of the office, assists with special projects and events, and works closely with students, faculty and staff.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages daily office operations for the Office of Student of Life. Serves as the first point of contact by welcoming visitors and maintaining a welcoming environment. Provices excellent customer service by promptly responding to in-person inquiries, emails and phone calls. Orders supplies and manages the office procard. Manages and updates student and alumni records and information dissemination process. Provides administrative support to Office of Student Life staff and adjunct faculty.
  • Supports student publications by consulting with student editors on the publication process, maintaining copyright permission files, monitoring annual budget expenditures, supporting the writing competitions and maintaining subscription lists, invoice and payment records.
  • Develops and updates Office of Student Life communications including the website and the weekly newsletter.
  • Schedules make-up classes and review sessions and works with other law school departments to maintain an accurate calendar of events.
  • Works with the Registrars to administer exams  .
  • Assists with special events and projects including Orientation, Intersession, student organization events and Commencement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

  • This position occupies a work station in the Office of Student Life in the Law School, Anheuser-Busch Hall, Suite 210. 
  • Light physical demands, such as during exam period or when working in the file room (no heavy lifting required).

Preferred Qualifications

  • College Degree.
  • Prior experience in a university setting working with students.
  • Computer experience (Access, student information systems).
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with ability to discharge and execute multiple responsibilities.
  • Capacity to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and oral/written communication skills.
  • Ability to serve and work with diverse constituencies.
  • Familiarity and understanding of FERPA.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Superior supervisory skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products. 


Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent high school certification.
  • Five years of relevant experience.
  • Computer experience (particularly MS Word and Excel).
  • Data entry experience.

Salary Range
$20.76 - $32.21 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
