The Texas A&M University Career Center provides centralized career and professional development services for undergraduate, graduate, and former students. We provide individualized career advising while also empowering students to utilize self-assessment resources to identify and explore careers, and we assist and support students in gaining relevant experience and pursuing their career goals, whether they choose to seek admission to graduate school or secure professional employment. One of the largest programs of its kind in the nation, the Career Center has been recognized nationally and regionally for our many best practices. What We Want

The Career Center is pleased to announce the opening for an Administrative Coordinator I who is an integral member of the Texas A&M Career Center team, providing support for Career Center recruiting activities and initiatives. The person in the role will be responsible for planning on-campus interview logistics, greeting and settling recruiting teams upon arrival at the Career Center, and assisting with employer engagement. In addition, this position will provide support for key Career Center initiatives, such as collecting salary surveys during graduation, coordinating content for virtual signage and materials, and more.

What you need to know

Salary: Commensurate based on hire's experience.

Position Details: Employee will supervise (1) Student Worker.

Required Education and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Two years of experience in office administration

Preferred Education and Experiences:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Texas A&M University or other major university and campus recruiting experience

  • Computer literacy: business level experience with spreadsheets and word processing software programs

  • More than two years of experience in office administration

  • Two or more years of experience supervising student workers or staff

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • TAMU experience

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills and ability to work with a wide range of constituents: from the corporate executive to academic deans and faculty, to University Relations managers, to students and parents

  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills; ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment in the employment marketplace

  • Self-starter with strong organization skills and the ability to plan and execute work in an environment with many interruptions

  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Texas A&M University or other major university and campus recruiting

  • Knowledge of HireAggies, majors available at Texas A&M, and Career Center protocol and procedures

Responsibilities:

  • Employer Consultant - Provides customized recruiting support to corporate talent acquisition managers of major corporations. Manages and coordinates virtual career fair operations and logistics, including creation and launch in HireAggies, as well as providing support during each event. Discusses value of information and networking sessions and coordinates logistics of planning big campus events, including working with other campus partners to who provide event services and with other campus partners in the planning of large-scale events. Exercises discretion and independent judgment in commitments to employers regarding special services, in resolving problems/issues with recruiters, and in allocating interview room space. Independently resolves problems/issues related to recruiting activities/functions. Provides a high level of customer service to employers seeking A&M talent. Trains representatives of companies on the use of HireAggies.

  • Virtual Interview Services - Provides advanced and system knowledgeable customer service support to students and employers participating in virtual interviews and recruiting events. Resolves issues and provides education to employers and students regarding their use of HireAggies, a national Symplicity platform, and job search tools. Provides former students and families insight into Career Center services. Hosts employers in their arrival and preparation for a day of student interviews.

  • Administrative - Resolves highly sensitive, complex, and often-confidential administrative issues with employers talent acquisition plans and goals. Serves as the technical expert for employer and staff use of HireAggies.com, a complex, customized database; is a primary information resource for operational methods, procedures, and use of employer portion of HireAggies.com. Designs and generates statistical reports. Recognizes needs for improvements and makes appropriate recommendations. Develops procedures and supervises the implementation of improvements, assuring compliance with University policies.

  • Frontline Customer Service - Manages front desk experience in 209 Koldus, the Career Center. Provides customer service for all students, staff, faculty, employers and other visitors. Reaches out to other campus offices to seek specific information a visitor may be asking about. Performs other duties as assigned.
