Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Five years of related experience

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a high stress environment.

  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.

  • Ability to work independently once given a project.

  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in TAMUS or Faculty Affairs office

Job Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative task support for the College of Medicine.

  • Serves as initial contact for COM campus request and COM email address.

  • Provides technical information regarding administrative procedures, services, or programs. Researches and analyzes.

  • Exercises initiative, excellent communication and organizational skills and demonstrates a projectoriented aptitude.

  • Collaborates with departments in the College of Medicine.

  • Provides committee support which includes creating surveys, distributing them appropriately and analyzing data.

  • Coordinates daily office support activities and administrative interactions.

  • Assists in the coordination of daily work flow and the resolution of complex, highly sensitive and confidential matters.

  • Assists in creating internal process and procedures.

  • Responds to inquiries and interprets rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

  • May monitor compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Coordinates travel arrangements and prepares itineraries.

  • Coordinates meetings, seminars, and other special events.

  • Maintains a variety of fiscal, administrative, and academic records

  • Coordinates the maintenance of files, records, office supplies, or equipment

  • Ensures files are updated and maintained.

  • Ensures data is entered into the faculty database.

  • Prepares packets, scans and uploads documents.

  • Maintains electronic files.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
