A part of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center, Texas A&M School of Dentistry  in Dallas was founded in 1905 and is a nationally recognized center for oral health sciences education, research, specialized patient care and continuing dental education. What you need to know  

Proposed Salary: $20.00 - $22.00 hourly based on selected hires qualifications

Work Schedule/Location: This is an on-site role with a typical schedule of Monday – Friday 8am to 5pm.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Five years of related experience in a general office setting.

Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.  

  • Ability to work in a high stress environment. 

  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality. 

  • Ability to work independently once given a project/task.

Essential Duties/Tasks

Administrative Support

  • Serves as the main point of contact for the Office of Student Affairs, providing information, resolving questions/concerns, etc. Escalates concerns to appropriate offices/personnel.

  • Maintains services/activities records and databases.

  • Provides advanced administrative support and may serve as a personal assistant.

  • May maintain office schedules and appointments.

  • Helps coordinate departmental communications.

  • Replenishes office supplies and schedules maintenance of office equipment, as needed.

  • Compiles program and activities information to assist in evaluating for future planning.

  • Assists Recruitment and Admissions as needed. 

Student Support

  • Assists with campus tours and welcomes prospective students and their families.

  • Maintains confidentiality of student circumstances and private matters.

  • Responsible for ordering all locks needed for dental students.

  • Helps develop matriculation packets/reports.

  • Coordinates student travel by reviewing submitted forms and processing student travel payment.

  • Assigns lockers for current students at the end of term.

  • Assigns lockers for new students, orders new student materials such as white coat, lab coats and desk name plates.

  • Responds to inquiries regarding student affairs matters and routes to appropriate personnel.

Special Event Coordination

  • Assists in the planning and preparation of special events and programs.

  • Attends site visits for event planning.

  • Makes arrangements for meetings, appointments, conferences, and travel.

  • Sets up facilities, equipment, and food for meetings and other special events.

  • Schedules rooms for meetings

  • Performs other duties, as assigned.
