The College of Arts and Sciences at Creighton University is hiring a full-time Administrative Assistant III position. This is a day position working primarily Monday – Friday, on campus.

 

The Administrative Assistant III will support the College of Arts and Sciences departments, chairs, faculty and/or endowed chairs. Perform complex, advanced, diversified duties while handling confidential information for the college and department. Communicates and coordinates instructions to achieve desired results with various individuals and/or departments. Schedules appointments, meetings, conferences, and travel. Organizes and maintains correspondence, projects, and follows up on pending matters with limited direction. Prepares special correspondence, reports, and analyzes data in preparation of summarizing results. May assist in monitoring the departmental budget in consultation with the Department Chair. Serves as the primary administrative and operational liaison by communicating with individuals across departments, college, university, and broader community. Organizes and expedites work throughout the office and initiates follow up action. Assignments are broad in nature and require the individual to think critically to arrive at solutions. Will collaborate with other members of the team in the resolution of issues and propose improvements. Will also supervise student workers assigned to the department.

 


Qualifications:
  • 6 years of administrative experience
  • High School Diploma required, Associates Degree or higher preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Able to resolve conflicts and deal with difficult customers
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures/processes
  • Excellent communication abilities both verbal and written
  • Customer service focus including the ability to assess inquiries and provide appropriate information or resolution using judgment and available resources, and proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to be collaborative and work in a team environment
  • Must be professional, dependable, and accountable
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize work with multiple and conflicting demands in a deadline-oriented environment
