Job Description

The School of Engineering seeks a qualified applicant for a part-time Adjunct Faculty appointment in Engineering. The successful applicant will have to teach a Digital Logic Design course online with focus on topics including but not limited to Hardware implementation of arithmetic and logical functions, and organization and design of digital systems. Successful candidates will have to hold virtual office hours and assist students virtually as needed.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related area with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline.

  • Previous teaching experience at the collegiate level in the area of Digital Logic Design.

  • Previous experience teaching computer and/or electrical engineering courses online at the collegiate level.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • An earned doctorate in Engineering (or closely related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours).

  • Prior relevant industry experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. 

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with students, university administrators, and the general public. 

  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks. 

  • Ability to work under stress and with pressing timelines. 

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Other information:

  • The above job duties may not be performed in every Adjunct Faculty position and might not include all related duties that may be performed.
  • Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary appointments, assigned per semester and on an as-needed basis.
  • These temporary appointments are for the Spring 2022 semester and/or any applicable Spring 2022 sub-terms.
