Job Description
General Description:
The Accommodations and Accessibility Services Specialist provides assistance to Accommodations and Accessibility Services. This assistance would include support with day-to-day office activities as well as direct services to students.
Duties and Tasks:
  • Manage the database to include documentation management, reviewing documentation for sufficiency, assigning cases to Counselors, data entry, and preparing reports.
  • Support the hiring and training of student hires.
  • Serve as a reader, scribe and/or note-taker as needed in the provision of direct services to students needing accommodations within the classroom and testing environments.
  • Assist with the development of required and essential trainings, special events, workshops, and other programming.
  • Assist with procurement, budgeting, and inventory needs.
  • Provide general support with other duties as identified.
Special Assignments

May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
Required KSAs:
  • Knowledge of working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in working with students with disabilities.
  • Skill in the operation of computers, related software applications (word-processing, spreadsheet, database, graphic presentations, information management, etc.) and standard office equipment.
  • Knowledge of various assistive technology tools.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in the use of proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, business correspondence, composition and format.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously with high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and harmonious work relations with faculty, staff, students and the general public.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Experience in administrative support or customer service.
  • Experience with database management.
