Summary/Objective
This position serves as the academic advisor for graduate students in the Master of Public Policy in the Department of Public Administration and Policy (DPAP). The individual provides quality academic support services to students as well as advises and counsels new, continuing, and non-degree students regarding their academic, professional, and career goals. The incumbent provides guidance on academic progress and other issues that affect academic performance, monitoring student progress. The incumbent co-ordinates closely with and supports the MPP Program director and Department chair on matters of the MPP. program including policy, recruitment, admissions, course scheduling, student issues, etc. Incumbent reviews all admissions applications. The incumbent participates in campus activities related to the recruitment, conversion, and retention of graduate students. The incumbent represents SPA advisors on university wide committees and working groups as assigned by the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs. The Master of Public Policy program enrolls over 120 graduate students each year.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree
- 2-4 years of relevant experience; At least three years of relevant work experience are required.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Master's degree
- With study of academic advising, counseling, student development or other relevant academic educational fields

- Demonstrated understanding of a university environment including the organizational, governance, and regulatory structure of major colleges and universities.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
