£31406 to £40927 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The University of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Teaching Associate. Applications are invited for the post of Teaching Associate in Biomedical Sciences based at University Hospitals of Burton and Derby NHS Foundation Trust, Royal Derby Hospital Centre, Derby.

You will work directly with a team of core members of staff who deliver in subject disciplines of physiology, pharmacology, anatomy, pathology, cell/molecular biology and clinical skills in the medical context. You will deliver lectures primarily physiologically focussed, support practical class delivery in a number of biomedical disciplines (e.g. physiological measurements, histology, microbiology), contribute to module assessment and marking needs across of disciplines and aid academic and professional development for the students on the BSc in Medical Physiology and Therapeutics course at our Derby.

You will have opportunities to deliver tutorials and supervise final year BSc student projects and contribute overall to the assessment processes as a member of our teaching team. You will provide a consistently excellent standard of teaching and support for student learning that is underpinned by scholarship.

You must have a relevant degree and a postgraduate (MSc) in related subject area and may or may not have teaching qualification. You will have experience of teaching physiology and a range of biomedical science subjects at HE level and the ability to creatively apply relevant approaches to teaching and learning support. You will have excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate with clarity on complex information. You will have a high-level analytical capability to facilitate conceptual thinking, innovation, and creativity.

This is a permanent, full-time post (36.25 hours per week). Arrangements for job share would be considered.
