The Education Policy Support Section supports the PVC Education in the development of education policy and the management of quality assurance and enhancement across the collegiate University. The section services Education Committee and its subcommittees, provides advice and guidance to departments, faculties and colleges within Oxford, and handles certain types of student cases.
This Senior Policy Officer role will work on taught-degree policy issues as well as student casework.

This role also offers the opportunity for hybrid working though you will be expected to be in the office at least 2-3 days a week.
About the Role
You will be responsible for the development and review of University policies, procedures and practices relating to taught degrees and the student experience. You will lead, manage and advise on development and delivery of policies and initiatives to achieve the goals and priorities for enhancing taught-degree provision and the student experience, as set out in the University’s Strategic Plan.
You will act as secretary to specific University committees, as well as attending the Taught Degrees and Awards Panel. You will present papers to these and other groups as required to steer the development and implementation of policies relating to taught degree provision, working in close consultation with faculties, departments and colleges.
You will also be responsible for managing a range of student cases, making decisions on some cases, and providing advice to the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) on the most serious cases.
About You
The post-holder will have experience of working in the higher education sector or comparable environment. You will have excellent organisational, analytical and communication skills in order to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders. You will be able to produce clear and accurate papers for consideration at University committees, and be able to present those papers clearly and effectively.
You will be able to work flexibly both as part of a team and on your own initiative, and be able to manage your own workload.
You will need to act with diplomacy when handling confidential tasks, understanding when discretion is required in sensitive work.
