Senior Lecturer in Epidemiology

An exciting position has arisen for a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychological Medicine. Sitting within Professor Matthew Hotopf’s research group and closely aligned to the Informatics Cluster of the South London and Maudsley NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC), the group is a highly collegiate, enterprising and supportive team of around 25 academic and research staff, who use epidemiology and advanced informatics to understand the interface between mental and physical health, from discovery to translation into population interventions. The successful candidate will have excellent skills in study design and analysis, interested in working in mental health, specifically depression and related disorders, however previous experience of mental health research is not a requirement. The post holder should be flexible, ambitious and collaborative, and have excellent skills in supervision, with a track record of publishing independently in high impact journals, previous success in gaining external funding and excellent presentation skills.
The selection process will include competency based questions, a presentation, an assessment and a panel interview. Interviews are scheduled to be held in September.
