Birkbeck, University of London, is looking for a Researcher Training Manager to develop our institutional research culture.

As Researcher Training Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and promoting a healthy research environment. You will review the College’s strategy, processes and activities; and support all areas of Birkbeck’s research culture. You will support researchers throughout their career lifecycle and foster a more positive, inclusive and supportive research culture.
In this post, you will oversee the complete training life cycle across Birkbeck’s training portfolio. You’ll update existing training and identify and develop resources to fill identified training gaps, with a focus on identifying, and addressing, training needs to support inclusivity, diversity and anti-discrimination practices.
This post, funded by a Research Culture grant from the Wellcome Trust, will support Birkbeck in enhancing its research culture so that academic and research staff from historically excluded communities are empowered to further their careers in health and health-related research.
About you
To succeed in this role you need to have a solid understanding of how to effectively support the career development of researchers; with a proven track record in the development, evaluation and delivery of researcher development. You’ll have strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues.
You should have an understanding of the aims of the higher education sector, particularly in relation to research culture, be able to co-develop initiatives with a wide range of partners to enable positive changes. You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience.
Remuneration
£42,365 rising to £48,424 per annum, Grade 7 of the College's London Pay Scale.

The salary quoted is on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
Terms and Conditions
Fixed-term contract for two years: May 2024-April 2026. Full time (35 hours a week).
