The Research Consortium for School Health and Nutrition (RCSHN) is an initiative of the School Meals Coalition, which was established in 2021 by (now) 90+ member states whose governments made a pledge to rebuild, improve or scale up their national school health and nutrition programmes following  COVID-19. The Consortium was established to promote credible, independent research to inform evidence-based decision-making on school health and nutrition With a small Secretariat at LSHTM, the Consortium operates as a global network of networks to promote quality research and provide guidance on effective policymaking on school health and nutrition.

The Research Consortium is seeking a Research Fellow to support the development of the Consortium’s publications and research proposals. We are looking for someone with research interests in school health and nutrition and with proven experience of working with academic and subject experts and organizations in the global South.

The successful applicant will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic, relevant research experience with topics related to school-based health and nutrition interventions, proven ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a research team, and proven ability to meet research deadlines. The post is full-time at 1 FTE until 31st December 2024, with any extension subject to funding.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6 in the range £43,947-£49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
