Job Description

ECE Department of National University of Singapore is seeking a highly knowledgeable and motivated Thermal Physics Specialist to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be a key contributor to our innovative project focused on leveraging thermal physics principles to enhance the thermal management of flexible electronics. The primary objective is to propose novel thermal management solutions based on a fundamental understanding and precise control of heat.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize a deep understanding of thermal physics principles to analyze, model, and optimize thermal behavior in flexible electronic components.
  • Propose innovative and efficient thermal management strategies based on fundamental insights into heat transfer, conduction, convection, and radiation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate proposed thermal management strategies into the design and development of flexible electronics prototypes.
  • Conduct analysis and simulations to predict and evaluate thermal performance, aiding in the optimization of heat dissipation and absorption.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in thermal physics and apply relevant concepts to drive continuous improvement in thermal management approaches.
  • Work closely with experimentalists to validate theoretical models and experimentally characterize thermal properties of materials used in flexible electronics.

Qualifications

Candidate should meet at least 4 criteria from the following list:

  • Ph.D. in Physics, Thermal Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on thermal physics.
  • In-depth understanding of thermal physics principles, heat transfer mechanisms, and related phenomena in flexible electronic materials and structures.
  • Proven ability to propose and implement novel thermal management solutions based on a deep understanding of thermal physics.
  • Proficiency in thermal simulation tools and software for modeling heat behavior and predicting thermal performance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in analysis and interpretation of thermal data.
  • Knowledge of advanced experimental techniques for thermal characterization and analysis.
