About the Role

You will be working closely with world leading researchers and industrial engineers on the aerodynamic design and analysis of aero-engine intake, nacelle and exhaust systems. The work will also encompass considerable research effort on computational modelling of propulsion system integration under cruise and high-lift conditions. One element of the collaborative part of the research will centre around the evaluation of the aerodynamic integration and the overall structural loads of the aero-engine.

About You

You will hold a PhD (or close to completion) in Aerospace Propulsion, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Aerodynamics or related subject with a track record of publishing in high quality journals.

Good skills in engineering computing and programming are required and experience of optimisation methods would be beneficial. Ability to communicate clearly at a technical level and capability of clearly summarising objectives and achievements for briefing colleagues and project partners is also essential.
