This is an exciting opportunity for a postgraduate researcher to join the LSHTM team of the HIGH Horizons Consortium to work on a large multi-country collaborative project assessing the health effects of climate change on maternal and neonatal health in sub-Saharan Africa (HIGH Horizons).

The candidate should have a background in medical/environmental statistics/quantitative epidemiology. Ideally, the candidate would have experience in the analysis of environmental data, especially those related to climate change, pollution or temperature and health outcomes. The post-holder will be line managed by Prof Veronique Filippi, being part of a team working on climate and MNCH (Prof Debra Jackson).

The post-holder will have a postgraduate degree, ideally a doctoral degree, in a relevant topic alongside relevant experience in analysing quantitative data on the relationships between health and environmental determinants. Relevant computer/ analytical skills and experience in using STATA and R statistical softwares is essential. Further particulars are included in the job description.

The post is part-time 14 hours per week, 0.4 FTE and fixed-term for 24 months from start date. The post is funded by the UKRI HIGH Horizons Grant and is available from 01 February 2024.

The salary will be on the Academic Pathway salary scale Grade 6 in the range £43,947-£49,908 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service.  Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part-time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
