The role

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to specialise within Research Assurance at the University of Bristol. Based within the Research Centre of Excellence, the Research Assurance & Analysis team provides assurance to funders and external stakeholders with regards to research grant management and you will play a key part in delivering initiatives to champion this.

As Research Assurance Accountant you will underpin the Research Assurance team’s activities by managing certain areas of responsibility and supporting the Finance Business Partner. What will you be doing?

  • You will manage a team of two Research Assurance Assistant Accountants, as well as one Finance Assistant.
  • Overseeing the external audit, internal compliance reviews, and due diligence processes conducted by the Research Assurance Assistant Accountants.
  • You will work closely with the Research Finance Analysts to improve our data and develop our reporting and information offering.

You should apply if

  • You have an aptitude for working in a financial environment and proactively using initiative to seek solutions to complex problems.
  • You can analyse data and take decisions on the correct accounting treatment.
  • You either have an AAT qualification or have been educated to degree level. Alternatively you can demonstrate the equivalent experience.
  • You should have excellent communication and Excel skills, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
