Research Assistant Salary (Grade R1): £35,490 to £37,488 per annum inclusive of London Weighting

Research Fellow Salary (Grade R1): £39,607 to £46,771 inclusive of London Weighting with potential to progress to £50,858 per annum inclusive of London Weighting through sustained exceptional contribution

NARRATE (Horizon Europe Project 101138094) will develop a sophisticated tool using AI, Digital Twin, and IoT technologies that allows for end-to-end visibility and control over supply chain operations to monitor and predict potential disruptions, enabling supply chains to achieve improved resilience.

We are seeking a candidate to develop a Resilient Digital Module aimed at identifying and addressing two key sources of risk: uncertainty and disruptions. The role involves analysing and gaining a deeper understanding of how to mitigate high-impact uncertainties that affect company objectives. This includes scenarios such as potential loss of outsourced product orders, supplier disruptions, warehouse product losses, and late delivery times for orders with components from multiple suppliers.

You will take on the responsibility to be one of the researchers within the Brunel Team in the NARRATE project and to develop and lead a research agenda that focuses on developing RDM encompass Resilience Strategy & Risk Identification & Monitoring Tools for supply chains. You will lead the model analysis addressing the abovementioned issues, including data collection, model development, coding, model calibration, numerical analysis, data visualisation, data curation and statistical analysis.

You will also:

  • Publish research papers in peer-reviewed journals (ABS3&4),
  • Prepare and present the deliverables for other partners and industries.  

It is essential that you have finished your PG study in Operation and Supply Chain Management, Computer Science, or a related field.

You also must:

  • Be proficient in one or more programming languages, ideally Python or C#,
  • Have a strong mathematical modelling and Artificial Intelligence background,
  • Have experience with the Risk Management, Resilience, and Sustainability.
