Applications are invited for the post of Research Assistant in the Department of Law and Criminology. The Department of Law and Criminology is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences, alongside the Departments of Economics and Politics, International Relations and Philosophy. We are forward thinking, multidisciplinary and research active. We offer undergraduate programmes in Law, Criminology & Psychology, Criminology & Sociology and Social Science, together with Masters programmes in Social Work, Forensic Psychology, Consumption, Culture & Marketing and Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Studies. We are also home to an energetic postgraduate research student community.  

We seek a research assistant to support with the delivery of a project entitled “Older People’s Care Homes, Inspection Practices and Human Rights”. You will work alongside experienced academics from criminology, law and social work to deliver outputs including an analysis of reports from Council of Europe state national preventative mechanisms on older people’s care homes. You will also support the delivery of a symposium and a publication.

The post is available from March 2024 or soon thereafter and is based in both our Campus at 11 Bedford Square, London and in Egham, Surrey where the University is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park.
