Aston University is a public research university located in Birmingham’s city centre, England’s second-largest city in terms of population. The Chief Student Officer (CSO) is a newly created role dedicated to providing strategic leadership towards this promise, developing modern customer-focused services and creating a digital-first one-stop-shop for student services. Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and a member of the University Senior Leadership Group, the postholder will manage a significant student-facing university services from enrolment to graduation, reaching local, regional and international students and will play a key leadership role in ensuring that an outstanding student experience and seamless student journey sits at the heart of everything the university offers.

We are seeking an experienced senior manager with demonstrable experience in designing, leading, and implementing organisational and process automation and change with sustained evidence-based impact. You will have substantial experience in managing student or customer-facing operations in a complex, ideally higher education environment, with a full understanding of customer experience management with sustained evidence-based impact.
