Aston Business School, located in the heart of Birmingham - England’s second largest city - seeks to appoint a highly motivated, ambitious academic with the ability and interest in providing excellence in learning and teaching in the field of finance.

The holder of this post will influence the future direction of the Economics, Finance and Entrepreneurship Department in the development of taught finance programmes at UG and PG level.

We are very much open to scholars who have a background in any area of finance but our department is in need of an academic who has significant expertise in teaching specialised modules in business and international finance.

The appointed candidate will be expected to play a prominent role in the success and development of our finance offering. The usual teaching load for a post like this constitutes 4.5 modules across the academic year.

We also anticipate that the appointed candidate will be able to demonstrate leadership in learning and teaching and be an innovative and reflective practitioner.  A teaching qualification and fellowship of Advance HE is very much desirable at this level. In addition, we are particular interested in applicants who are CFA chaterholders.

Furthermore, the appointed academic will also be expected to take on programme directorship and supervise master’s students, students on industrial placements and DBA students.

We would also encourage any interested candidates to look at our department’s staff profiles to see if there are synergies in terms of teaching expertise and the possibility of conducting research in finance or pedagogy.
