Overview

We wish to appoint a Psychology Laboratories Manager to join the School of Biological & Behavioural Sciences (SBBS), a large, dynamic and expanding School within the Faculty of Science and Engineering. You will responsible for the day-to-day running, upkeep, maintenance and safety compliance of the Psychology research laboratories and will help with the undergraduate students, including assisting with research projects.

The School of Biological and Behavioral Sciences (SBBS) is one of the largest Schools within Queen Mary University of London. The school has three departments (Biochemistry, Biology, and Psychology). SBBS has over 90 academic staff, 29 administrative staff and 26 technicians (teaching and research).  

The role’s primary objectives are to assist with running labs, helping with the running of the final year undergraduate projects, and general maintenance of the psychology systems (e.g. running SONA, helping with Gorilla). The post is part of the Technical Services career family at Queen Mary University of London, which supports functions across multiple sites and provides the infrastructure and support for all our research, teaching and learning activities.

About You

You should be educated to degree level or equivalent, with a background ideally in experimental psychology, computer science or a related field. You will have considerable understanding and technical experience of working in laboratory environments (notably EEG and eye tracking facilities), and experience supporting researchers and undergraduate students.

The post is based at the Mile End Campus in London. It is full-time, permanent appointment. The salary will be in Grade 4, in the range of £34,733 - £40,797per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
