Overview
About the Role
We have embarked on exciting, large-scale agile deliveries and as part of that are looking for a talented and dedicated Product Manager. As part of our transformation, we are passionately committed to hiring expert professionals to provide a strategic direction for services that underpin a personalised Student and Staff journey with the University which maximises the value captured from our extensive product range whilst operating at maximum efficiency.
As Product Manager within IT Services, you will perform a strategic role in shaping, evolving and management of a suite of products and services. You will guide Product Owners for delivery of prioritised features in an agile fashion with a cross-functional, cross IT and business disciplinary team.
About You
You will be responsible for leading product development at QMUL by delivering the IT Enabling Plan and strengthening collaboration between Faculties, other Professional Services Departments and IT Services to realise the Queen Mary Strategy 2030.
You will be responsible for guiding the success of a product and setting the vision for the cross-functional team that is responsible for its ongoing delivery. You will set the strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for a product or product line. The ability to influence senior stakeholders using data, logic and storytelling is a key part of this role.
About the Department
IT Services is a key enabler to the successful fulfilment of Queen Mary’s strategic goals of excellence in research, teaching and learning, and University Experience. Our services support students and colleagues and range from email and internet access to state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities, business application software and high-performance computing in support of research.
Benefits
We offer competitive salaries, access to a generous pension scheme, 30 days’ leave per annum (pro-rata for part-time/fixed-term), a season ticket loan scheme and access to a comprehensive range of personal and professional development opportunities. In addition, we offer a range of work life balance and family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, and campus facilities including an on-site nursery at the Mile End campus.
The post is based in London. It is a full-time, permanent appointment, with an immediate start date. The starting salary will be Grade 7, in the range of £58,949 - £65,823 per annum inclusive of London Allowance. A temporary market supplement is attached to this post, which is a separate payment in addition to the normal salary. A review of market conditions will be carried out periodically to establish if the market supplement should continue.
We particularly welcome applications from people who identify as Women, Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic groups as these groups are underrepresented at this level at Queen Mary.
Queen Mary’s commitment to our diverse and inclusive community is embedded in our appointment processes. Reasonable adjustments will be made at each stage of the recruitment process for any candidate with a disability. We are open to considering applications from candidates wishing to work flexibly.
