About the Role 

The Postdoctoral Researcher is located in the Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences, which sits in the School of Health Sciences. This position will support research of the Cognitive Neuropsychiatry Lab. 

The appointee will have an established track-record of conducting research in the field of psychology. The candidate will have specialist knowledge of research into voice/perceptual experiences and transdiagnostic factors that contribute to mental health, and expertise in systematic reviews, communicating to specialist and lay audiences, and research administration. Through your research, you will make an original contribution to the advancement of research, which will have international recognition and will foster international collaborations.

This role will involve liaising with researchers and stakeholders from Australia, the UK, and India. It is expected that this will result in high quality research output that may result in further significant external research funding. The appointee will be expected to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team to support the Centre for Mental Health and Brain Sciences and the School to achieve its objectives. This can be a full-time or part-time appointment. However to meet project milestone deadlines, we are looking for a candidate who can commit to an early start.

About You  

To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

  • Using specialist knowledge with regards to voices/perceptual experiences produce high quality research for a specific project for the Wellcome Trust.
  • Coordinate and show research leadership by developing and sustaining a collaboration with stakeholders in multiple countries, including Australia, the UK, and India
  • Carry out any other duties commensurate with the scope and classification of the role and required within the scope of the project.
  • Contribute to the administration of your research the production of reports and other administrative duties as they arise.
  • Record and provide information to associated staff and stakeholders in accordance with policy and procedure.
  • Work collaboratively across the University, across the Research Ecosystems and other central functions as required in order to deliver on Swinburne’s missions and strategies.

Qualifications

  • A postgraduate research degree (PhD or similar) in an area related to psychology or neuroscience.
