About the opportunity
The Postdoctoral Neuroimaging Research Associate/Fellow provides deep technical knowledge and project management support to collaborative neuroimaging projects across the Brain and Mind Centre , including the Spencer-Bennett NeuroMusic Collaborative , a collaboration between the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the Healthy Ageing Program at the Brain and Mind Centre. The incumbent will work under the broad academic direction of Professor Fernando Calamante and an Imaging Research Academic Panel, while also working with researchers from the Healthy Brain Ageing team, Brain and Mind Centre and the NeuroMusic Collaborative.
While having the academic home in the Faculty of Engineering, the incumbent will be based at the Brain and Mind Centre and work across faculties and disciplines. Roles will include actively leading and contributing to research activities, designing research protocols and undertaking critical aspects of research work, including management and analysis of imaging data such as processing, analysis and interpretation of a variety of structural and functional MRI data, maintenance of databases, collecting MRI data from new patients and study participants (including patient contact and consent, and booking time on the MRI scanner), liaising with project support staff, radiographers, MR physicists, neurologists and other health professionals, preparing relevant materials in collaboration with team members, and facilitating the efficient operation of the research laboratory and Healthy Brain Ageing Imaging Platform by providing technical and operational support. The incumbent will collate and record research data, draw insights and analyses, report information from the research undertaken and may work with Prof. Calamante's collaborative network and/or Brain and Mind Centre Senior Academics to source grant funding. It is expected that the incumbent will also be engaged in the co-supervision of students including a PhD scholar of the NeuroMusic Collaborative
About you

- a PhD (or near completion) in neuroimaging or a closely associated field
- specialty knowledge and previous experience in the analysis of advanced MRI techniques specific to neurology/neuroscience
- experience in developing and working on research projects, including expertise in using research protocols, experimental design, ethics submissions, peer-reviewed publications, and grant applications
- advanced skills in data analysis, using statistical analysis tools, and reporting on research findings
- experience working in multidisciplinary research teams
- experience in training others and knowledge sharing
