Research Assistant for Studying Music and the Brain with MRI

Fredrik Ulléns research group works in tight collaboration with the Max Planck Institute for Empirical Aesthetics in Frankfurt. The research is focused on the psychology and brain mechanisms of expertise, in particular musical expertise. We use a combination of techniques from behavior genetics, experimental psychology, neuroimaging, and physiology. A major research effort during the coming years will be to analyze gene- environment interplay in musical skill learning in a cohort of Swedish twins, using a combination of behavioral measurements and brain scanning with MRI. To perform this research programme we are now recruiting a research assistant that will have a main responsibility for recruitment of participants, organization and scheduling of experiments, as well as data collection using MRI.


Your mission

Primary duties will be to administer and conduct data collections in behavioral and MRI experiments, including participant recruitment and scheduling of experiments.


Your profile

The applicant should have basic theoretical knowledge of neuroanatomy and cognitive neuroscience, as well as previous experience in conducting MRI experiments. Documented good organizational skills and previous experience in coordinating recruitment of participants are a merit. The candidate should be reliable, meticulous and cooperative, with an ability to work independently. It is very important to be able to interact with other researchers and work well in a team.

Minimum a Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field.
