Updated: 2 months ago
Location: London, ENGLAND
Job Type: FullTime
Deadline: 22 Mar 2024

About the Role

Applications are invited for two post-doctoral positions in a productive and interactive laboratory, with diverse expertise and access to a wide range of specialised equipment, within the William Harvey Heart Centre, part of the internationally renowned William Harvey Research Institute at Barts & The London Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry. The posts are funded by the British Heart Foundation and focus on characterisation of the pathophysiological roles of C-type natriuretic peptide in the heart, particularly in the setting of heart failure.

About You

The posts would be ideally suited to newly qualified PhD, or post-doctoral fellow with some experience. Applicants should have a broad background in ex vivo cardiac and vascular functional pharmacology and expertise in in vivo disease models. An interest in natriuretic peptide/cGMP -driven signalling pathways would be beneficial.

About the Project

This project will comprise a multi-disciplinary strategy including cell-based assays, biochemical techniques, in vitro functional pharmacological assessment of cardiac and vascular reactivity, and experimental models of disease. The successful candidates will join a team of young scientists investigating wider physiological roles and pathological dysfunction of natriuretic peptide signalling in the cardiovascular system.
