The University of Edinburgh Business School is seeking to appoint a committed and effective Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Creative Industries as we grow our expertise in this field.  The post holder would be expected to contribute to research, teaching and practice engagement in the field of Creative Industries and to be part of the Business School’s Strategy Group. 

Given the centrality of Edinburgh as a creative hub, investment in teaching, research, and dissemination activities around the creative and cultural sector is a strategic priority of the University of Edinburgh. To date, two courses on the creative and cultural industries are offered within the UEBS by the Strategy Group (BUST110140 and CMSE11531), and five courses are taught at EFI by UEBS‘s academic staff: Creative Markets (Giovanni Formilan, Strategy Group), Client Consulting Project (Candace Jones, Strategy Group), Strategic Change Leadership for Creative Industries (Andrea Wessendorf, Strategy Group), and Pitching Your Stories, Services and Products (Teea Palo, Marketing Group).

The post holder will be a member of the Strategy Group. They will have the opportunity to develop our teaching and research in the field of service management through our MSc in Service Management and Design and by dedicated UG and PG courses. 

Demand is buoyant for this field of study and the postholder will join a group of committed colleagues working in this field across the Business School and the College of Art. 

Colleagues in CenSe have a strong research agenda with a commitment to have an impact on research, policy and practice. 

Your skills and attributes for success: 

  • Good understanding of Creative Industries in terms of theory/research.
  • Strong skills in collegiate working in academic teaching and research groups.
  • Commitment to and/or track record of publishing in leading journals.
  • Ability to work to and to meet academic deadlines.
